Description
The circlip is installed into a correctly dimensioned groove on the outside of the shaft. Once seated in the groove, the ring forms a retaining shoulder that helps prevent bearings, gears, pulleys, spacers and other fitted components from moving axially along the shaft. Rotor Clip describes DIN 471 external retaining rings specifically as shaft-mounted rings used for external axial retention. Rotor Clip
The two lug holes allow the ring to be expanded using suitable external circlip pliers during installation or removal.
Stainless-steel versions are suitable where corrosion resistance is required, but the exact stainless material should be confirmed from the manufacturer. DIN 471 stainless circlips are commercially supplied in spring stainless grades such as 1.4568 and martesitic stainless grades including 1.4110 / 1.4116 / 1.4122.
This 70mm Stainless Steel External Circlip is suitable for shafts, bearings, gear assemblies, pulleys, motors, machinery, automotive components, industrial equipment and general engineering applications.
